Pharmaceutical Analysis

M.PHARM. IN PHARMACEUTICAL ANALYSIS

M.Pharm. in Pharmaceutical Analysis is a 2-year full-time program. Pharmaceutical Analysis essentially involves concepts and processes of drug development, elucidation of structure, qualitative, and quantitative analysis of a drug, and its contaminants.

Students enrolled to the course at AnwarulUloom College of Pharmacy are imparted with both theoretical and practical skills needed to operate laboratory instruments during drug analysis. Pharmaceutical Analysis is a branch of Practical Chemistry, and an advanced study of the series of processes involved in the identification, quantification, determination, and purification of a given chemical substance, in separation of the components of a solution or mixture, and in determination of structures of chemical compounds.

Such substances may be single compounds or mixtures of compounds and may be in any of the dosage forms. Substances used as pharmaceuticals include animals, microorganisms, plants, minerals, and various synthetic products. Pharmaceutical Analysis is the determination of the quality of drug products via application of Analytical Chemistry.
